You went to the legend of Spanish football Kini28-02-2018 |
The former striker of Sporting Gijon, Barcelona and Spain`s national team, Enrique de Castro Gonzalez, known by the pseudonym Kini, left at the age of 68. The former striker died of a heart attack he had received on the street in front of his home in Gijon. Cinema has become five times the top scorer number one in the elite of Spain (1974, 1976, 1980, 1981, 1982). He scored a record in the history of Sporting Gijon with 271 goals. For Barcelona he played between 1980 and 1984, playing 100 in which he scored 53 goals. Spain`s national team has 35 matches, playing at two World Championships in 1978 and 1982. In 1981, he was kidnapped by two people who threatened him with a gun after invading his own car. This happened immediately after the Barcelona-Erculles (Alicante), won by the Catalans with 6:0 with two goals. The whole Barcelona team is particularly struggling for the next 25 days in which Kinney is missing, especially his best friend Bernd Schuster. On March 25th, he was released after an operation by the specialists. The kidnappers demanded 100 million Spanish pesetas to be transferred to a Swiss bank and the other condition was for Barcelona to abandon the championship title in Spain, which is ultimately going on. On March 25, the money was taken by 26-year-old electrician Viktor Manuel Dias Esteban, who was followed to the airport and arrested there, and Kini himself was found in a room in Zaragoza and released.
On the next day, the pale and exhausted Kini was greeted by 131, 000 people with ovations. The court condemns the kidnappers to pay damages to the player of 5 million pesetas, but he refuses to do so.
In 1984 he decided to leave Barcelona, ??initially even going to give up football. Later, however, he played his career in native Sporting (Gijon), but never reached his former form and glory.
In the latest study by the Center for History and Statistics of Spanish Football (CIHEFE) for Best Player in the History of the Spanish League, he is the fifth.
The news of his death plunged Spanish football into grief. A number of top stars such as Carles Puyol, Andres Iniesta, Luis Enrique, David Villa, Iker Casillas, Juan Matta and Sergio Ramos, and Spain`s Prime Minister Mariano Rahoy, have expressed condolences for his loss.
