Serena Williams overcame the second round of the tennis tournament in Toronto with 2.51 million dollar prize pool.
Three times champion beat with 2:6, 6:3, 6:0 against Italian Flavia Pennetta.
The 33-year-old American played his first match of the season on the Hardcourt in North America, after being part of the tournament in Stanford last week because of an injury to his right arm at the elbow.
Pennetta easily won the first set 6-2 and then skip to lead with 2:1 in the second part, funny point of breakthrough. Williams took an advance on 4:1 and tied the score in the match.
In the last set the American tennis player, winner of 21 titles from Grand slam tournaments, leaving no chances for its somebody who's anti-wedding and win by 6:0, ranking for the third round.
Williams won the first of his three titles in Toronto in 2001.
In the next round of United States Rep will meet the winner of the duel between Heather Watson (UK) and Andrea Petkovic (Germany).
Bouchard of Canada surprisingly lost against Belinda Bencic with 0:6, 7:5, 2:6. The 21-year-old Bouchard lost in the first round of eight of the last 10 tournament it participates in.
Victoria Azarenka and Jelena Jankovic, a former No 1 in the world rankings, just continued forward. Jankovic defeated with 7:6 (4), 6:2 against Karoline Garcia (France), while Azarenka from Belarus coped with Elina Svitolina (Ukraine) with 6:1, 6:4.
