Seeded second in the scheme Simona Halep managed to catch a set gap to qualify for the second round of Open tennis tournament in the United States. The Romanian won with 6: 7 (2), 6: 1, 6: 2 Daniel Collins.
Halep, who achieved record ranking of her career with a second place in the WTA rankings earlier this month, lost the first set tiebreak, but recovered quickly and failed to win only three more games.
