Rafael Nadal qualified for the quarter-finals of the tennis tournament in Beijing, defeating with 6-4, 7-6 (3) over Philipp Kohlschreiber. So the Spaniard took another step toward his returning to the top of the world rankings for men.
World No. 2 may be came out on the top for the first time since July 2011, if he reach to the final in China, as from this achievement divides him two victories.
Kohlschreiber did not give up easily to Rafa, as the battle between them lasted nearly 2 hours. The Spaniard managed to get a early break for 2:0 games, but the German score for 3:3. Just in the final game of the set, however the serve of Kohlschreiber again crack and Nadal lead.
In the next set either of them failed to reach a breakthrough, but in the tiebreak Nadal showed very strong nerves and managed to finish the match in his favor.
