American male tennis recorded historical downfall on a Grand Slam tournament while Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray remained their course to a semifinal with each other on US Open.

Playing with wild card Tim Smichek was the last hope of the hosts to have a representative in the fourth round of the tournament - something that has always been done in the Open era. Djokovic, seeking his fourth consecutive final in New York, will now play with Granoye who have won his only game so far.

Murray again goes against the Uzbek Denis Istomin, who ousted the 20th in the scheme Andreas Seppi with 6-3, 6-4, 2-6, 3-6, 6-1.
