Rod Laver: Murray is expecting more Grand Slam titles16-07-2013 |
Tennis legend Rod Laver believes that Andy Murray will add more Grand Slam titles by the end of his career.
At the beginning of this month the Scot end the 77-year waiting for a British champion of "Wimbledon", and last year won the first trophy of the four major tournaments (U S Open).
"Several years ago I watched how Murray loses one after another Grand Slam final, but I never doubted that possesses the qualities to beat the best players - Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic - in big games," said the Australian. "My only concern was for his lack of self-confidence to make enough finishing moves when leading the game."
"I believe that Murray has proven that he has the confidence and aggression that are needed to win. He showed he can handle the pressure at decisive points, because it is much brighter than before. Then he found a way to lose won finals and his shape was like a yo-yo. "
"The difference today is that he has two major titles, one of which is the largest possible -" Wimbledon. "I am confident that he will continue on the same path and win more Grand Slam tournaments. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't do it" ended Laver.
