Seeded second in the scheme at Roland Garros Maria Sharapova is the first finalist in this year's tournament. The Russian won with 6:1, 2:6, 6:4 against the representative of Belarus Victoria Azarenka.
The match was interrupted at the end of the second set because of rain in Paris, at a critical moment for the Beautiful Masha. After returning to the court, however, in 1-1 parts Sharapova was slightly more focused than her rival on the court "Philippe Chatrier."
In the deciding set, the Russian missed four match points in 5-2. However, Sharapova won the match after 6:4 and thus will be able to defend her title from last year.
During the meeting the Russian made 38 unforced errors and scored 11 aces.
In the final the Russian will face the winner of the match, Serena Williams (USA) - Sara Errani (Italy).
"My goal was to get to the final and I'm glad I did it. The pause because of the rain gave me time to figure out what I missed in the second set, which worked at first. Serena Williams is the favorite for this tournament but, I'm glad to any of opponent because I got to the final of this tournament, "said Sharapova after the match.
