Daniela Hantuchova left Roland Garros, after in a match of the first round lost with 4:6, 6:7 (7) from the former world No 1 Jelena Jankovic.
The Russian had her chances in the second set as she led with 5-0, but the Serb made an incredible turnaround and win 7 of the next 8 games to close the match in two sets.
In another dramatic match Marion Bartoli reached a very difficult victory with 7:6 (8), 4:6, 7:5 over Olga Govortsova from Belarus in a match that lasted over 3 hours.
