The Open Championship of France lost another one of the top tennis players after Juan Martin del Potro said he'll miss the tournament because of a viral illness. Thus the Bulgarian climbed to number 26 in the set at Roland Garros.
Yesterday it became clear that the world No. 2 Andy Murray will not play in Paris because of back pain, and now another player from the top 10 - Juan Martin del Potro confirmed that Roland Garros will miss. The Argentine has been plagued by a viral disease for more than a month as because it missed the Portugal Open and Masters Series tournaments in Madrid and in Rome Masters losses from Benoit Peer in the third round.
"This is a blow for me because this is one of the tournaments that everybody dreams of winning. Now I have to overcome disappointment and to fully recover, to be ready on 100 per cent for the next challenge," said Del Potro, who reached semifinals at Roland Garros in 2009. After failure of Murray and Del Potro, Grigor Dimitrov will climb with two places in the set and will be number 26 in the main draw. The draw for the tournament will be drawn tomorrow.
