Serena Williams started her quest for a record sixth title at the WTA tournament in Miami with a win 6:1, 6:1 over the Italian Flavia Pennetta. The World number one played his first tournament of the loss in the final in Doha in February by Victoria Azarenka, had 18 chances to break and realized five of them.
The older sister Venus also continues after the success with 7:6, 3:6, 6:4 win over the Japanese veteran Kimiko Date-Krumm.
