The tennis player Maria Sharapova qualified for the third round of the women Indian Wells, USA. Seeded second in the scheme of the race the Russian beat convincingly over her opponent Francesca Skiavone with 6-2, 6-1 in a match lasting over an hour.
"Schiavone had several opportunities to broke back, but did not take advantage of them. Throughout the game I became more aggressive and managed to establish superiority. I know that Schiavone lives because of the matches on the center court and always play at her best," said Sharapova which occupies the third place in the ranking.
Now Sharapova will face Carla Suarez Navarro. To get to this game, the Spaniard beat her compatriot Silvia Soler Espinosa with 6-1, 6-1.
Agnieszka Radwanska, Marion Bartoli, Sara Errani and Petra Kvitova also won their place in the third round of the tournament, which has a prize fund 4.5 million dollars.
