The Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal expressed his joy from the fact that he returned with a victory in his first singles match after a long absence. The athlete beat the Argentinean Federico Delbonis with 6-3, 6-2 in a match of the second round of the tournament in Vina del Mar, Chile.
"I am very happy that after such a long absence I played a singles match. I need more time to regain my form, but so far everything is going well, "said Nadal.
"The most important thing for me is to spend as much as possible time on the court. This win will allow me to play here at least another two matches - in singles and doubles. Training is one thing, but the matches completely different, "said the Spanish tennis player.
Yesterday, Rafael Nadal and Juan Monaco beat Frantisek Cermak and Lukas Dluhi with 6-3, 6-2 in the doubles match.
