Rafael Nadal has record first win in single from seven months after he beat the Argentinean Federico Delbonis with 6-3, 6-2 in a match of the second round of the tournament in Vina del Mar.
Former world No 1 began difficult match and lost his submission in the first game, and shortly afterwards already trailing with 0-2. The champion Roland Garros, however, found his shots and then took the first set with 6-3 after 50 minutes. In the second part, Nadal showed very good movement on the court to get to the final 6-3, 6-2 in an hour and 28 minutes. "I'm happy to be back playing in singles. This was a very important day for me. I thank everyone for the support, I never dreamed of such a returning," the Spaniard said after the game. "I am glad that my knee cope well with running," added the winner of 11 Grand Slam titles. In the next round, Nadal will face the winner of the match between Albert Montanyes and Daniel Gimeno-Traver.
