Seeded two in the men's scheme of the Australian Open tennis Roger Federer qualified for the third round after winning with 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 over the Russian Nikolay Davydenko.
The sixth Juan Martin Del Potro from Argentina also won easily his meeting of the second round after 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 and went to the next phase of the first Grand Slam of 2013.
The next rival of Federer in Melbourne will be the representative of the hosts Bernard Tomic and the giant Del Potro will compete with the Frenchman Jeremy Chardy.
