Placed fourth in the scheme in women Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland) continued her winning move from the beginning of the year and in the first round of the Australian Open. The champion of the tournaments in Auckland and Sydney had some problems against the representative of the hosts Bojana Bobushich but eventually triumphed with 7:5, 6:0.
The Australian managed to break the serve of her opponent even in the opening game and had a chance to close the first set with 5:4. Radwanska won the next three, however, and did not allow surprise. In the second set the Pole clearly superior Bobushich who managed to get to just 9 points.
