Andy Murray dedicates the success over Grigor to Ross Hutchins, he was inspired by Stiliyan Petrov11-01-2013 |
Andy Murray dedicates his title from the tournament in Brisbane, where he beat in the final Grigor Dimitrov, to his teammate in the national team of Great Britain Ross Hutchins, who a few days ago it became clear that he has a cancer.
Hutchins himself, who began an exhausting six months chemotherapy, said he would do everything in his power to fight the disease and revealed that he draws inspiration in his struggle from the captain of Aston Villa and the national team of Bulgaria Stiliyan Petrov, who also battle with leukemia.
"Outside of my family, Andy was the first person to who I told about my disease. He was incredible - he told me he wants to know every detail, good or bad, for the treatment and I know that I can be honest with him, "said Ross Hutchins, who is number 28 in the world doubles rankings.
"I read about the history of Stiliyan and other cases of athletes affected by these diseases, and their stories are very inspirational," said the tennis player.
Hutchins is a former partner of Murray in doubles and 28th in the world doubles rankings.
