It's discussed the dropping of the matches for 3rd place at the Games in Rio 10-12-2012

The management of the International Tennis Federation ITF consider options for changing the rules of tennis tournament at the Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, informed ESPN.

It's considering in Brazil to drop out the match for third place. This means that the bronze medals will be awarded to players who lost their semifinal matches.

Such was the case during the tournament for the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988.
