Nicolas Almagro (Argentina) beat Andy Roddick (USA) with 6:4, 7:5 in the final of the demonstrative Miami Tennis Cup tournament. Roddick, who announced his retirement from professional tennis at the U.S. Open this summer, let one break in each of the sets.
Firstly in the first in 30:40 in the final game of the first set he sent the ball into the net from backhand. In the ninth game of the second set, the American saved the first opportunity for a breakthrough. In the 11th game, however, failed to handle the diagonal forehand of Almagro and stepped into the set and the match.
Until today Almagro had two losses in two games in the tournament against Roddick, including the quarterfinals of the tournament in Key Biscayne in 2010 of Masters Series.
