Tomas Berdych beat in a dramatic match against Nicolas Almagro with 6:3, 3:6, 6:3, 6:7 (5), 6:3 and tied the final series for the Cup "Davis" between Czech Republic and Spain at 1:1 victories.
Berdych, seeded sixth and the first rocket of te Czech national team dealt the first defeat of his Spanish rival for the Cup "Davis" this year, and also won the fifth of six games between them for the season. He remained unbeaten in this competition in 2012 after strong Retur of Almagro out of shape on the court at the first attempt to win the match by the Czech.
Earlier in Prague, David Ferrer beat 6:3, 6:4, 6:4 over the representative of the hosts Radek Stepanek in the first singles match.
