Andy Murray qualified for the semifinals in Shanghai15-10-2012 |
Two-time champion Andy Murray ensured his place in the semifinals of the tennis tournament of the series "Masters" in Shanghai, with a prize of 3.5 million dollars. Third-seeded Briton handle the Czech Radek Stepanek in three sets - 4:6, 6:2, 6:3.
Stepanek dominated in the first part and did not allow to Murray to reach any opportunity for a breakthrough. In the second set, the Olympic champion 2012 in London achieved a breakthrough and lead with 4:2, then the Czech had two chances to win the filing of the Briton, but he miss it and Murray increased his lead.
The third part Radek Stepanek lead with 2:1 after an early break but failed to make the score 3:1 and Andy Murray turn around, winning the match.
In the semifinals the British tennis player will face the winner of the match between Roger Federer (Switzerland) and Marin Cilic (Croatia).
So far Andy Murray has 11 wins and none defeat in matches of the tournament in Shanghai.
In another quarter-match number 4 in the main draw Tomas Berdych (Czech Republic) beat tough with 6:3, 7:6 (4) No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (France).
