The Frenchman Richard Gasquet won the tennis tournament in Bangkok (Thailand) with a prize of 551,000 dollars. Seeded second and rookie in the race Gasquet beat in the final his compatriot Gilles Simon with 6:2, 6:1 for 68 minutes.
Simon, winner of the race in 2009, started the match with a break, but in the end he managed to take only 2 more of the next 14 games.
So Gasquet continued his perfect series against Simon and now has six wins against his compatriot of six meetings.
The new champion, who lost only 10 points on his own submission in the meeting, records the seventh career title and first since May 2010 in Nice.
As is known, Gasquet turned in the second round the best Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov after losing the first set and trailing with 2:5 games in the second.
The 27 years old Simon did stick with 10 titles since the 13th final of his career. He won the tournament in Bucharest earlier in the season.
