Andy Murray failed to bring the second gold medal for the hosts of Britain's tennis tournament at the Olympic Games.
The Briton who won the final singles, beating world No 1 Roger Federer (Switzerland), lost the final of mixed doubles with his partner Laura Robson.
Champions became World No. 1 women's tennis, Victoria Azarenka and Max Mirniy from Belarus who won the final with 3:6, 6:3, 10:8 for 72 minutes.
Supported by local fans Murray and Robson won the first set but Azarenka in the second and Mirniy led with 4:1 and equalized the match.
In the championship tiebreak couple of Belarus led with 9:6 and although Murray and Robson saved two match points, Azarenka finally brought the gold for her country.
Victoria Azarenka won the bronze medal in the singles tournament for women.
Mixed doubles tournament is back to the Olympic program for the first time since 1924 onwards.
Later today in dispute for the bronze medals will play Christopher Kas and Lizitski Sabine (Germany) placed third against Mike Bryan and Lisa Raymond (USA).
