World No. 1 women's tennis Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) qualified for the semifinals of the Olympic tennis tournament for women of the Games in London.
Azarenka, who is number 1 in the scheme, beat seventh placed Angelica Kerber (Germany) with 6:4, 7:5 for 1:46 hours.
In the first set the representative of Belarus led with 4:0 but allowed alignment. She won the set after a break in the tenth game.
In the second part Azarenka led with 3:1, but lost the next two consecutive games. After 5:5 she won his submission and ended the match with a break.
World number one record five aces and placed 26 winners shot.
In the semifinals Azarenka will play with the winner of the match between No. 4 Serena Williams (USA) and Caroline Voznyatski (Denmark).
