No. 2-ranked Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland) was eliminated in the first round of the Olympic tennis tournament.
Radwanska lost to Germany's Julia Gyorges with 5:7, 7:6 (5), 4:6 2:16 after the game.
This was the first completed match of the day's program, played in the lowered roof on center court in "Wimbledon." Other games were postponed because of rain.
The German started better and took an early breakthrough advances. Radwanska leveled with 4:4, but in the 11th game conceded a new breakthrough and that proved fatal to the outcome of the first set.
The second part went without breaks and ended up to tiebreak, which the Polish won with 7:5 points.
In the third set Gyorges catch liability from 1:3, in the tenth game and realize breakthrough that brought her ultimate success.
