No. 4-ranked Andy Murray (Britain) was eliminated in the quarterfinals of tennis tournament on clay courts of the series "Masters" in Monte Carlo with a prize of € 2,400,000.
The third in the scheme and semifinalist last season Murray lost to Tomas Berdych (Czech Republic) with 7:6 (4), 2:6, 3:6 for 2:48 hours.
Berdych, who placed sixth for the second time in his career is semifinalist in tournament after 2007. He made a breakthrough in five games and missed one. The czech player wasted four setballs in the 12th game of the first set which he loss after tiebreak with 4:7. After that Berdych lost only two games in the second set, but the last part lead with 4:2 and ended the match with a break.
For the Czech this was the fourth win in six matches against Murray. Berdych in the semifinals will play with the winner of the match between No. 1 in the world Novak Djokovic (Serbia) and Robin Haase (Netherlands).
