Spaniard Marcel Granoyers Valencia won the tournament with a prize of € 2,020,000 after success in the final over Argentine Juan Monaco 2-1 sets - 6:2, 4:6, 7:6 (7:3). Both finalists were placed in the main draw of the tournament on hard courts and reaching the finals was more than surprising. The Spaniard came to success in the finals once showed better concentration at the decisive moment of the decisive tiebreak in the third set. 25-year-Granoyers win the match after four match points. The title is a first for the Spaniard on hard courts, so far there are only two titles in Houston in 2008 in Gstaad this year's clay courts.
