Bulgarian Boris Bakalov eliminated in the first round of qualifications for the strongest tennis tournament on hard courts of the Challenger series in Sacramento (USA) with a prize of 100,000 dollars. Bakalov scored eight aces, but lost to Cyril Harbatsyuk (Belarus) 6-2, 2:6, 1:6 after the 1:43 hour. Bulgarians had complete superiority in the first set but then conceded two unanswered breaks in the second and third part and this proved fatal.
