Maria Sharapova won the tennis tournament in Cincinnati (USA) with a prize of $ 2,050,000. In the final fourth-seeded Russian overcame difficult over Jelena Jankovic of Serbia in three sets - 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-3.
In the decisive game in Ohio between Sharapova and Jankovic had reached a total of 16 breaks, as Russia's second title win of the season and 24th overall in his career.
Sharapova began the match strongly and led 4-1 in the first set but then conceded a complete turnaround to 6-4 in favor of Jelena Jankovic.
The second part of two players allowed many unforced errors, but Russia's managed to stay in the match, winning the tiebreak 7-3.
In the first six games of the third set, both players made six breakthrough in the seventh game but Sharapova won the submission and it was a decisive moment in the final match.
After Russia's victory in Cincinnati climbed to fourth in world rankings and has established itself as one of the favorites to win the U.S. Open, which starts on 29 August.
