Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray for the semifinals29-06-2011 |
Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray will play against each other in the semifinals of the Open tennis in the UK. Number 1 in the world beat Nadal 6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 Mardy Fish American, while Murray won 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 Spaniard Feliciano Lopez.
Last year's champion Rafael Nadal has 31 wins and only 2 losses at Wimbledon in the last five editions of the tournament in which he participated. Disasters are the finals in 2006 and 2007. In the fourth round match against Juan Martin del Potro Spaniard hurt his leg, but this does not prevent him from winning today. Nadal once again demonstrated its strong kick and leaves no chance for 10th-seeded Mardy Fish. Rafael Nadal will try to win a third title at Wimbledon and a total of 11 Grand Slam tournaments.
Andy Murray did beat expected Felsiano Lopez as his victory was not questioned at any moment of the match. Britain controlled the developments throughout the meeting and unseeded Spaniard could not successfully oppose a favorite of local audiences. This is the third consecutive semi-final Andy Murray at Wimbledon.
In the other semifinal match against each other will play Novak Djokovic (Serbia) and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (France).
