Former world No 1 Roger Federer (Switzerland) is ranked for the third round of the clay courts of the series "Masters" in the Italian capital Rome with 2.75 million prize fund dollars.
Federer had no trouble against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (France) and won with 6:4, 6:2, having made three breaks of 83 minutes. In the next round opponent will be Federer Richard Gasquet (France).
Feliciano Lopez (Spain) beat Philip Kolshrayber (Germany), 6:4, 3:6, 6:3, and his next opponent is world No 1 Rafael Nadal.
Two of the questions left the tournament. Jurgen Melzer Number 8 (Austria) lost 4:6 with the first set against Florian Mayer (Germany) and then withdrew due to injury.
Number 15 Victor Troizk (Serbia) lost 4:6, 4:6 by PotitoStarache (Italy).
