Former world No 1 Maria Sharapova of Russia qualified for the third round of tennis tournament in Rome after a landslide victory over her compatriot Ekaterina Makarova with 6:1, 6:1.
Sharapova demonstrates a perfect fit before the second Grand Slam tournament Roland Garros, having completed the match against Makarova only for 54 minutes.
