The best Bulgarian tennis player Tsvetana Pironkova dropped out in the first round of tennis tournament on clay courts in the Spanish city of Barcelona with a prize fund 220 000 dollars.
The Bulgarian, who was number 3 in the main draw, losing to Italian Alberta Brianti with 1:6, 2:6 for 66 minutes.
Pironkova allowed four breaks in the first set, which won just one game for 29 minutes of play. In the second part Brianti led 3:0 after break and after a little over an hour easily won game after game in the final again made a breakthrough.
For participating in the tournament Pironkova get 1 point for ranking of WTA and 1825 dollars in prize money.
31-year-old Brianti, number 94 in world rankings, reached third win in four games against Pironkova. On Sunday, the Italian won the first title in his career, having triumphed in the tournament in Fez (Morocco).
