No. 3-seeded and finalist from last season's Stanislas Wawrinka (Switzerland) won the title of the tennis tournament in Indian city of Chennai with € 398,250 prize fund. Wawrinka won the final champion in 2007 Xavier Malisse of Belgium with 7:5, 4:6, 6:1 to 2:14. This is the third career title on the Swiss. Wawrinka made four breaks and 5 aces in the match and conceded two break. After equality sets Wawrinka was extremely convincing in the third set, which gave only game of Malisse.
