The Scot Andy Murray won with 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 the Portuguese Joao Souza and qualified for the third round of the Australian Open.
In the next stage, the Briton will face the Lithuanian Rikardas Berankis with who easily eliminated 25th-seeded German Florian Mayer after a 6-2, 6-3, 6-1.
Milos Raonich from Canada also found a place in the third round after success with 7-6, 6-2, 6-3 over the Czech Lucas Rosso.
And the Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga continued forward in the Australian Open tennis after 6-3 7-6 6-3 against the Japanese Go Soeda.
