Roddick beat Murray in a demonstrative tennis tournament

The former world No 1 Andy Roddick (U.S.) beat the Olympic champion Andy Murray (UK) in a demonstrative tennis tournament in Miami.

Roddick, who suspended his professional career three months ago, beat the winner of the U.S. Open and third in the world rankings currently Murray with 6:2, 6:3.

The American break twice the submission of his opponent in the first set and in the second part again reached break for 5:3, which proved decisive.

"Andy was very kind to me in this game. If he had reached the third set, certainly I would not withstand physical, because even at the end of the second I started to feel cramps," said Roddick.

But he was adamant that he has no intention to renew his career.

"Surely I won't return to professional tennis.I'm happy of my decision (to quit). The trips does not miss me.It's Nice to be back here and see familiar faces. Of course I still feel pleasure to hit the ball and to play tennis. I just do this without the pressure of the professional athletes and in front of less people, "he added.

Roddick will meet in the final of the tournament in Key Biscayne the Spaniard Nicolas Almagro, who beat John Isnar (USA) with 6:3, 6:4 in the other semifinal.
