Defending champion Nikolay Davydenko of Russia qualified for the finals of tennis tournament in Doha (Qatar) in prize money 1.024 million dollars. Fourth-seeded Davydenko broke driver-ranked Rafael Nadal of Spain 6:3, 6:2 after 84 minutes of play. The match started equally, but after 3:3 Russian won eight consecutive games, which proved crucial to success.
