Maria Sharapova apparently can not accept defeat easily by unknown Hungarian Greta Arn of the tournament in Auckland. Russian decreased by 0-2 sets in the quarterfinals of the competition.
Only hours later, Sharapova announced that it will not take part in the next tournament program WTA. Masha's refusal to play in Sydney, and so will join directly the Australian Open.
Anastasia Rodionova and Australian Jelena Dokic received wild-card for the tournament in Sydney from 9 to 15 January.
Australian Open starts on January 17.
