World number two Roger Federer was convincing in his first game of the final Masters in London, after defeating Spaniard David Ferrer 6-1, 6-4 for an hour and 28 minutes.
In a repeat of the final tournament of 2007, Federer started an excellent game, leads 4-0 games in the first set. Federer conceded one break, but closed the first part of 6-1. The second set was more equal, as the fight Spaniard had five opportunities to break but failed to achieve either.
