Sharapova started cooperation with the Dutch coach Sven Groenefeld, said the Russian tennis player on her Facebook. The girlfriend of Grigor Dimitrov was without mentor since August when she split with Jimmy Connors.
In July, she did release her coach Thomas Hogsted with whom worked from 2011 Groenefeld deals with coaching career from the early 90s. The Dutchman has worked with Monica Seles, Mary Pierce, Ana Ivanovic, Caroline Wozniacki, Anna Chakvetadze and Maria Kirilenko. Sharapova has not been out on the court since August and missed the U.S. Open and the final tournament of WTA. She is currently fourth in the world.
