Serb Janko Tipsarevic is ranked the fourth round of the Open men's circuit tennis tournament of the United States after the Czech Republic's Tomas Berdych dropped out of during the second set. Seeded 20 in the scheme Tipsarevic won the first set 6-4 when Berdych received injury in his right hand. Slipper received medical care between sets, but lost in the second with 0:5 and chose not to risk their health. Tipsarevic brought the biggest surprise in the U.S. last year, defeating Andy Roddick in the second round.
